Track & Field

4 years! This year happens to be my fourth and final year running track at Goshen High School. Over the years, we have begun to notice we are more than just a track team, we are a family! Through better or worse, we will always be here for one another cheering each other on in every race. During intense practice, we strive to be the best we can be, working on a variety of things. Our weaknesses, helping others figure out their weaknesses etc. The little things we do help us get better and prepare us for the beginning and the end of our season. I can honestly say I’m going to miss running track with this group of girls. Just keep in mind motivation is the key to getting better.

The picture below was taken at our first indoor track meet Saturday March 7,2015 at IWU (Indiana Wesleyan University), after the 4×2 girls relay. If you don’t know what that is, it’s a team of four girls that each run 200 meters. On an indoor track that would be one lap, but on an outdoor track that would be half the track. For a 4×2 relay you’re running all out holding a baton until you reach the start line to hand off the baton to the person running after you. How a relay works is you run the distance you’re suppose to, and then hand it off to the next person and repeat that until you get to the fourth girl/guy. That person will be the one that finishes off the race and gets you in 1st-8th place.

  1. I really liked how you talked about not just being a team but being a family. I felt the same way but with musical after so long of being with people you being to appreciate and realize that when you’re apart of something you need to work together to succeed and that brings you closer as a family.
